Smiley Card Book

Well Provo Craft finally came out with a booklet for the Smiley Cards Digital Cartridge for the Gypsy.
So I printed the book and man there were a lot of pages, even though I condensed it. Now I have 28 sheets of paper, wasn't quite sure what to do with them. So I pulled out my Your Story. I got a Black cover and inserted all of my sheets and bound it with the Your Story. Only took a few minutes.
After the book was bound, I got some leftover designer paper and started to decorate it. I took a 12x12 sheet and cut it to 11" and scored it in the middle. I should have taken pictures, but I didn't sorry. then I took a coordinated cherry die cut sheet and placed it on top. Added googlie eyes and with a Sharpe drew on a mouth and eye lashes. I also added 2 embellishments from the same set of paper. And TaDa here is the finish Smiley Card Book. What do you think?

Have fun crafting with Smiley Cards

Recycled Christmas card = New name plate

I am a big recycler. I want to help preserve our resources for our children to enjoy in the future. I was taking down the Christmas cards we received and I just couldn't part with this one. My husbands Boss sent it and it so happened to be made of the same ARC Shimmer paper that I have, so I thought for a minute hhhhhhmmmmmm........... I can make a name plate for my desk. So I look thru all my shimmer paper and found the perfect match and I cut a 2 1/2 by 8 1/2 strip to cove the Christmas greeting, and I got my Gypsy and used the Cursive 101 cartridge and welded the letters together to look more professional. I used a gold metallic texture card stock. I also added some clear bling on some of the stars. I punched holes in the corners with my Crop-a-Dile and added gold brads, and this is what I got.
What do you think.

God Bless America Card

Here is a simple card I made using the Stand and Salute cartridge. I would to take credit for this one but I did copy this from a blog. I am truly sorry but I don't remember which blog it is, but the card was so nice I had to make it.

This is a very easy card to do. Here is the recipe:
using the card feature cut a God Bless America  at 3 3/4 in blue textured paper and in white glitter paper(make sure you use the multi cut feature on the glitter paper). Make sure you trim the white glitter cutout so it's slightly smaller than the blue.I offset the white and blue to create a shadow.
I cut a scrap piece of paper in red to fit as a background and embossed it with Cuttlebugs Star embossing folder, then I used Martha Stewart's white ink to run over the stars to create a bit of dimension.
I used some bling in the center of the stars.
For the base of the card I used an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper and cut it in half, so I can make 2 cards from 1 sheet.
This would be a great card for 4th of July or even to send to our troops over seas, to let them know we are thinking of them.
 I hope you like it.

I found the blog I copied this from http://joyslife.com/god-bless-america-card-using-united-we-stand-cricut-cartridge/

Toy Story Paper Piecing and 2 page layout

I made this 2 page layout from the left over characters from my sons 4th birthday party. it took me about 2 month to make all the characters from the Toy Story Cricut cartridge. The background  paper is Bo Bunny (petal pushers) ,the paper for piecing is Bazzills and ARC Shimmer paper, I also used Stickles.

For Mrs. Potato Head I used ARC's shimmer paper, which I just love love love. You should get some.

I also used shimmer paper on Bullzeye.

I know this is older work but I thought I would share it with you, It was an experience to make all of these characters. I truly found my calling with the Cricut Expression. I love to do characters, they are a bit challenging sometimes but in the end all the hard work is so worth it.
I hope you have a great day. I would love to read your comments.

Mom's Christmas Cards

Well my friends, Christmas has come and gone, But I forgot to share this other card I made for my mom. I made this in November, but I forgot to take pictures of it. So I finally got 1 back to share with you. I had literally just got into stamping, (Thanks Gail) lol, so I wasn't very creative. I did copy this from the
Stampin-Up Catalog. I honestly don't remember all the colors I used, oh well. I did use stickles,a SU Border punch,a glitter marker, distressing stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder,SU Stamp, and a gold ribbon.
The picture doesn't show but I did color the image with color pencils, but it's so light that the camera did not pick it up. So this is, to be honest my first stamped card I made.

Paper Punch Storage

This is what I started with. I purchased 2 of these off of Craigs List last week for $1.00 for both. What a deal, couldn't pass it up. So I had my wonderful Handy Husband cut the separators out and drill 4 holes on each side so I can insert 3/8 size dowels. I would probably use a thicker dowel for the larger punches. This is the end result. What do you think?
I had to cover it with paper and I also used a Martha Stewart punch to dress it up. Not sure if I like the way it looks decorated wise, but the functionality of it is great. The good thing is I can change the look when I get a better idea of what I want it to look like. Most of these punches I purchase at http://www.buy4less.com/.
The second one I am going to use to store my Stampin Up ink pads and have my husband drill some more holes so I can either store more punches that I plan on buying or to store ribbon. Not sure yet. I will post that when when I get it done.

Merry Christmas to you all, stay safe and enjoy your time with family and friends.

Christmas 2008

I got this 2 page layout, is absolutely beautiful, thanks to Melissa. She designed this for a gift exchange, And I was fortunate enough to receive it. I did notice when I got it done, there was a small oops on my part. I was working on my photos from 2008 and the layout on the top right corner said 2010. I did make the correction yesterday, luckily I had the same Storybook Cricut Cartridge to cut out the same font numbers.

Thank you again Melissa, You made such a beautiful layout. I think I might be able to finish 2008 by then end of this year. OK so I am still a little behind but I am trying LOL.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Easy Christmas Treats

This is a very simple Christmas treat anyone can make. This would be fun to do with the kiddies.
There are 3 simple ingredients to this yummy treat.
You will need Almond Bark, which you can get at Wal-Mart in the baking isle.

Candy Canes
Last but not least, Holiday Shaped Pretzel.

All the ingredients were purchased at Wal-mart.

You will need a glass bowl, soup spoon, tongs, cookie sheet and foil paper.

In the glass bowl brake 3 blocks of the Almond Bark, microwave it to melt it to a Ketchup consistence. Crush 2 candy canes so that they are tiny pieces. My husband used a hammer to crush the candy canes, Silly guy.
Once the Almond Bark is melted, add the crushed candy canes and mix well.
Line a cookie sheet with foil so it won't stick to the cookie sheet.
Now put the pretzels in with the Almond bark and candy cane mix and cover pretzels completely. With the tongs take them our and place them on the foiled cookies sheet, and wait for it to harden.
Now enjoy your yummy treat.
This would be a good treat to put in my Snowman goody bags.
I hope you all enjoy it, let me know what you think.

BRRRR.......

Well, I worked on this yesterday. It's a kits I purchased a while ago, I just didn't know what pictures to put on it. I think I found the perfect ones. OK so I am a little behind on my scrapbooking, but I am trying to catch up. These pictures were taken 2 years ago when we actually had snow in Vegas ( Shocker) Really we did. The kits was simple to put together, the only thing I changed is that I added Stickles and Bling to the snowflakes. I think it came out cute. Glad I was able to finally use it.

These photos where taken as the snow was falling in our backyard.

The larger photo was not altered in any way, I think the picture came out perfect.

I hope you enjoy my layout. I was going to post another Christmas one , but on the layout it said 2010, but the photos where 2008, I have to make the correction. I had  duh moment. LOL
Have a great day

Snowman Topnote Goody Bag

Well this was a very fun project, I had to copy from http://stampinwitheerlinda.blogspot.com/2010/12/snowman-top-note-mini-album.html. This worked out perfect for my Husbands Christmas potluck lunch at work.

I first started by cutting the topnotes for the bags. 2 topnotes per bag are needed.

I used Stampin up TopNote die, The card stock I used was red by ARC Papers purchased at The Crafting Place.

Then I embossed the topnote with the Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder purchased at the crafting place @ 3560 East Russell Rd. Las Vegas Nv 89120
Then I cut out the box to sandwich between the top notes.

I assembled the box with red tacky tape.

From this point add the top notes to each side.

I also added some punch outs of snowflakes using Martha Stewart punches,I added some pop dots for dimension.

I also pieced snowmen using the Cricut Expression and the Christmas Cheer Cart.I also used Stickles on the hat and on the button holes. I cut the Snowman at 3".
I think it came out really cute, and a great office gift. I filled mine with a dozen mini Christmas tree cookies in Cello bags.

Sports Quilt for Anthony

Wow 2 posts in 1 day, OK so I'm being silly. But here is my latest quilt I have made. I made it for my son Anthony. This was supposed to be a Rail Fence Pattern, But I was cutting and piecing and putting together all in 1 shot. So I kind of changed it a bit. I use Wal-Mart fabric, because I am still learning how to sew. I don't want to make something and mess it up with expensive fabric. So I am still sewing with training wheels LOL. I got it last night from my quilter Di Chipman. She did a great job again.

Christmas Cards

Good morning all, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had a great one with lots of family and my kids had so much fun playing and laughing with my Uncle Hector and cousins. Today I am going to share some Christmas cards I made. These took me a little longer to make but I think the work was well worth it.

I used Stampin up Christmas stamp, SU Chocolate Chip ink and Card stock,SU Bravo Burgundy Card stock,Stickles, Cut the 25 and the Noel with Storybook Cartridge with my Cricut Expression, and colored pencils.

For the inside I also use the Choc. Chip ink, I used a Martha Stewart Dove punch I bought at Wal-Mart for $.75, it was on clearance and I couldn't pass it up. I also used  Smooch Spritz to add some texture.
I hope you like it.
